The first sightings for the 2026 nesting season were on 26th August. Despite close observations, we did not see any activity in the area before that date, and no males were sighted at any time. The number of nesting females grew rapidly, and they were and provisioning well under way within a few days. Activity continued until at least 13th September, although it was clearly waning by then.
I collected one female (#2608A) on 27th August 2026, specifically to send to CBG for barcoding. All images below were captured 15th Sept, after carding.
