spider #5 3/6/21
Found ~1.5m up northern wall of house at 7:20pm 3/6/21. Raining, 11 degrees. Collected, imaged, then housed for 24 hours in a petri dish with moistened paper. Imaged fully, live, ~9pm 4/6/21, then into freezer, then 100% ethanol. (note that there were also large numbers of hepialids in flight).
photographed on 5 June with micrometer scale bar.
spider #6 14/6/20
found in preserved, refrigerated spider collection. this was labelled #5 from 22/5/20 collection, but we had only recorded 4 spiders from that date, so this one was collected after that date. I found a Hadronyche sp. in the catalogue from 14/6/20, which matches this animal. We have relabelled it #6.
We photographed the same spider on 17/6/20 at 9:35am. We presumably put him into our tank in soil. We found him enclosed in a silk chamber in the soil.
I have photographed the whole spider and left leg 1, which was accidentally broken off when handling the animal. I have recorded spine numbers on segments of this leg in “Morphological data Hadronyche sp.” spreadsheet.
spider #7 17/6/18
two Hadronyche sp. (#7, #8) were found on a rainy night together with 3 Hadroynche nimoola and two Arbanitis spp. - all crawling up the house walls or on the ground nearby.
Only one of these - #7- was kept. It was photographed and then frozen, pinned and dried.
The dried spider was photographed again on 6/7/21 for measurement of body parts
spider #8 17/6/18
this spider was seen and photographed at the same time as spider #7 but was not collected
spider #9 9/6/21
one of 3 spiders caught in a pitfall trap on rainy night, ambient temp. 8°C.
live photos taken on 10/6/21
killed on 10/6/21 and placed in alcohol on 11/6/21. Photographed on 7/7/21.
spider #10 9/6/21
one of 3 spiders caught in a pitfall trap on rainy night, ambient temp. 8°C.
live photos taken on 10/6/21
killed on 10/6/21 and placed in alcohol on 11/6/21
spider #11 9/6/21
one of 3 spiders caught in a pitfall trap on rainy night, ambient temp. 8°C.
