Parasitic wasps come in a bewildering array of sizes, colours, and shape. This strikingly colourful one is relatively large, and caught my attention while it groomed atop a shiny leaf.
When seeking insects, glossy green leaves are a good place to look (second only to flowers, of course). Many types of insects favour such leaves as perches while grooming, and perhaps while warming themselves in the sun.
